Introduction
Village Development and Social Empowerment Forum Nepal (VDSEF Nepal), established on 12 April 1994, is a pioneer non-governmental organization registered in Kalikot District. Since its inception, VDSEF has been committed to empowering politically, socially, economically, and geographically marginalized communities, particularly across Kalikot and the wider Karnali Province.
Guided by a rights-based and participatory approach, VDSEF Nepal focuses on strengthening local capacities, improving livelihoods, and promoting sustainable and inclusive development. The organization works closely with communities, local governments, and development partners to ensure equitable access to essential services and opportunities for disadvantaged populations.
VDSEF Nepal implements programs across a wide range of thematic areas, including health and well-being, education, child protection and child rights governance, nutrition and food security, rural infrastructure development, agriculture and natural resource management, WASH, human rights, peace and democracy, and civil society strengthening. These integrated interventions aim to address the root causes of poverty and exclusion.
With the generous support of donor agencies and partners, VDSEF Nepal emphasizes social mobilization, effective service delivery, and the promotion of appropriate local technologies. The organization is dedicated to improving socioeconomic and health conditions, conserving natural resources, and fostering resilient and sustainable communities.
