Project Overview

The Village Development and Save the Environment Forum (VDSEF) Nepal, in partnership with One Heart Worldwide (OHW), is implementing the SMNHS project in Kalikot District. This initiative covers all nine local governments in the district and primarily focuses on improving maternal and neonatal health services in Nepal. The SMNHS project aims to protect lives and promote the well-being of mothers and their newborns in underserved rural areas of Nepal through its various well-designed interventions covering local governments, health facilities, health workers, and communities.

Objectives

  1. Strengthen health system through capacity building of local governments
  2. Increase maternal and neonatal health (MNH) service demand
  3. Increase MNH service delivery
  4. Capacity enhancement of MNH service providers
  5. Improve quality of MNH services
  6. Coordination, Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning
